Chris, 14 and nearly 5’10”, is in his last year of Jr. High. He has been accepted in a Science Honors class next year. He is doing fine and excels in sports. Last summer he also became a Certified Diver. His museum is growing; before long we have to build a “schaack” for him to display all of his great antique collection. His latest additions are a spinning wheel and wagon wheel from his Van Schaatk grand parents. His Anderson’ grandparents also added a pair of 50 year old gold, handmade cufflinks and a family Bible. His bottle collection is really getting fantastic. Many additions were added this summer from our September vacation, He took Highway 49 through the Gold Country, taking slides and movies of the Mother Lode and Comstock area.
Last year Joyce wrote of her upcoming trip to the Orient…a few details on it:. New Year’s Eve was spent in Manilla, after an 18 hour flight from San Francisco. It was difficult to stay awake for the midnight show! Hong Kong was truly the most beautiful city. The Taiwan Chinese Nationalists were most gracious hosts. Japan was exiting and the Emperor’s Gardens were absolutely gorgeous. Come see our Movies: Jim was thrilled with his Nikon camera and he hasn’t stopped taking slides. Jim has been working hard as usual. His group designed J.M. McDonald stores in Norfolk and Grand Island, Nebraska, and in Greeley, Colorado. Jim.and his great staff have been busily working on Emporium-Cepwell stores in northern California, a Quinn’s Nutrition Center in L.A. has been seen on the Planter’s Peanut television commercial. Jim has been very busy helping Mom decorate bulletin boards and making slide presentations for Sutter Jr, High School. Yep, after years of college, Joyce’s student teaching 8th grade History and taking 6 Units at C.S.U.N. She, along with 7 other students and a light and sound crew, will be traveling throughout California and Arizona with a Christian acting and singing troupe called “The Lamppost”.
