On January 20, 1989 President Reagan completed his eight years as President of the United States and to show our appreciation for a job well done, a few of his friends and supporters organized a welcome home celebration at the Los Angeles Airport (LAX).
The organizers of the celebration included Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley and friends of the Reagan’s including Joyce and Jim Van Schaack.
There were three marching bands, lots of press, the “Just Say No” kids and hundreds of invited guests.
